During the 1890-1920\'s elaborate Valentine\'s Day cards were all the rage. They were made with lace, honeycomb paper, scraps of die cut images such as flowers, animals, children, angels, women and hearts. Often they are layered and have paper springs between the layers to give them a popped out 3-D look. This beautiful Valentine\'s Day is circa 1860-1880s era. This is a typical style card from that era. Beautiful delicate paper lace attached to a backing paper. In the center is a paper scrap of flowers. Text around the scraps say, \"What is it in life\'s happy dream, that makes een sugar tasteless seem. Or adding all earth\'s honied store, could not inhance its sweetness more!\". The card opens to blank inside. The pink on the inside is not part of the original card just a piece of pink paper I stuck in there so you can see the details better. The card is in excellent condition and no damage to report. Measures 5 x 7.Guaranteed to be \"old\" and authentic. Not a recent reproduction.1/2015
