Here we have an incredible pair of antique French bronze urn lamps featuringhighly detailed and chased seated angel cherubs and cornucopias on the covers, and accented with acanthus leaves. The main body sports a deeply sculptedfreezedepicting a Bacchanalianscene featuring frolickingcherubs and Satyrs on a stippled groundand accentedby gadrooning, stylized egg and dart molding, and acanthus base, the whole resting on a square base with concave corners and further elevated on stepped variegated pink marble slabs. Each lamp is topped by replacement harp playing angles.Dark chocolate patina with verde gris highlights. These lamps were once a pair of covered urns, and were converted to electric in the 1920's. Excellent condition!One piece of marble hasbeen repaired near the front right corner as seen in the pictures. Brand new wiring and in excellent working order.Each lamp measures 31" to the top of the finials. Bronze urns with marble bases measure 17-1/4" tall x6-5/8" square at the marble bases. The urns date from the 1850's. New green felt bottoms.Each lamp weighs over 18 lbs! TRULY A SPECTACULAR PAIR OF ANTIQUE LAMPS. SORRY, NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING WITHOUT MY PRIOR APPROVAL.
