Vintage Framed Matted Japanese Print 1894 \"A River Scene\" by Sojun 13 1/4 by 15 Inches You are offerding on a Vintage Framed Matted Japanese Print 1894 \"A River Scene\" by Sojun 13 1/4 by 15 Inches. This great looking Japanese print is identified as being \"A River Scene\" by Sojun from 1894. I obtained this at an estate sale so I have no reason to believe this is other than as identified. The image features a lone sailor in a small sail boat traversing the reeds in a pond or lake. There are small hills in the background and a few ducks or birds flying on the right. There appears to be a small village slightly to the left. The image measures about 8 1/4 by 6 1/2 inches. It appears at the top corners of the image and directly center at the top are some imperfections, perhaps some residue from the adhesive. From afar this looks like it could be clouds in the background but up close with a light you can see the blemishes. On the right side edge of the print is a signature in Japanese and a small square containing various symbols. This is framed in a black wooden frame that has lines of red. There are a couple of very small dings on the right side. The glass looks nice and this has a light taupe fabric matting with a thin white 1/4 inch border. The frame measures about 13 1/4 by 15 Inches. On the back of the print is brown paper backing, a metal wire hanging mechanism and a \"Modern and Period Frames, Unique Designs by Leon, Huntington Frame Co., 108 Huntington Avenue, CO. 7-4029, Boston 16, Mass\" tag. On the bottom right of the back it reads in blue pen \"A RIVER SCENE, By SOJUN, Printed in 1894. This is being sold \"as is\" so I cannot 100% guaranty the age or provenance of this item.
