POSTER DESCRIPTION:

FAIR

Ultrarare, linenbacked original World War 1 poster. We obtained this poster with many other WW1 posters in Vermont. The poster's red, white and blue border had been trimmed down to accommodate framing. Some remnants of the blue border remained prior to restoration. A talented restorer expertly replaced the borders. The poster had previously been folded and restoration addressed foldline wear and splits. The poster displays amazingly well but please note that the borders were replaced during restoration.A pre restoration image is available.

Photos show the overall quality as well as any imperfections. We offer hassle free returns if you are not satisfied for any reason.

DESCRIPTION:I Want You For U.S. Army, the 1917 U.S. World War I (WWI) recruitment poster ("Nearest Recruiting Station") encouraging men to join the United States Army and featuring classic artwork of Uncle Sam pointing at the viewer by James Montgomery Flagg. Note that this is the original 1917 poster.

What is linenbacking? "Linenbacking" is an expensive process used to preserve movie posters and to make them far easier to display (it is much easier and less expensive to frame a linenbacked poster).
