DESCRIPTION:Vintage menu: THE COTTAGE PATCH - EUTAW ALABAMA.Measures 10" across, when opened. Noted on front of menu: E.C. WARD - U.S.N. - R. NEILAN. Note the accommodating caption: "FISHERMAN - HUNTERS, COME AS YOU ARE / LET US COOK YOUR FISH OR GAME. Circa 1940's.
The Cotton Patch was an iconic Greene County restaurant known for fried chicken, watermelon rind pickles and whiskey bottles wrapped in brown paper bags as well as for its log-cabin architecture and massive stone fireplace. The restaurant opened in 1937 and was a favorite destination for University of Alabama students. The original building north of Eutaw burned in 1975. It has since been later re-opened in other nearby locations, but closed for good in 2008.

CONDITION:Menu has heavy folding creases, spotting & toning. Fair overall shape.See multiple photos.
