DESCRIPTION:Rare (try to find another) andexquisitely hand carved 8-Day Musical Chalet Cuckoo Clock made 20yearsago by Black Forest Master Clockmaker DOLDSchwarzwald-Uhren. The entire clock is made of wood and is masterfully hand carved including the thick and heavy chalet case with a curved roof and hand cutshingles, clock dial, clock hands, water wheel, dancers and figures on the clock platform including a cat sitting on a bench, a rabbit, beer keg on a wooden dolly and a split wood pile. Sitting on two barrelsare two large very well carved and hand paintedanimated beer drinkers. This clock has a great animation including the two Beer Drinkers that raisetheirmugs and toast each otherwith the cuckooand a SpinningWater Wheel that moves with the music and four pairs of Rotating and Spinning Dancers. The cuckoo calls and beer drinkers clink mugs counting out the number of hours on the hour and once on the half hour. The clock has a Romance Swiss made music box by Reuge that alternates playing two German drinking songs; (1) Trink Trink Brudnriein in Munchen (2) steht einHofbrauheus, which you can hear and see in the Video Demo (link below). This clock operates using a German made 8-day Regula 34 mechanical brass movement with three 1,260 gram pinecone weights that need to be pulled once a week. A manual switch on the bottom of the clock turns the cuckoo and music on and off for \"silent\" mode if you are a light sleeper. This clock measures 48 cm (19\") in height not including the pendulum or weights and is 16\" wide. Set-Up and Operating Instructions are included. This DOLD chalet cuckoo clock even includes the original box which has been saved for 20 years!
EXCELLENT CONDITION: This cuckoo clock was made in 2001 and is in excellent physical and mechanical condition. The clock mechanism has been lubricated with synthetic clock oil and keeps excellent time but might need a fine adjustment of thependulumafter shipping and set up in its new home as described in the instructions.
