Weight approx 60 grams eachA pair of finely madeBronze Age European fibulae, or brooches, used to fasten one's cloak or cape. Each matching piece is made of a single section of bronze wire of undulating width, finely incised and intricately twisted in spirals, terminating in a long straight pin.
Both fibulae areintact and in an Excellent state of preservation. Stunning blue-green patina. With antique custom oakmounts. Very fine.
Fibulae of this size and quality are a testament to the skill of Bronze Age craftsmen even at this early date and would have been owned by only the highest ranking members of the elite warrior class.
