Authentic antique folio photogravure print on medium weight paper, dating to 1883, as published byGoupil in Masterpieces ofFrench artfolio book.The print is from an incomplete antique art book. Condition is good, intactand generally clean for a print of this age, showing normal age and some slight imperfections overall, including a small amount of foxing, which are age spots. Blank margins are approximately asshown and blank margins are full plate. One edge has a binding strip from being bound in the art book. Blank on back. Overall size is approximately9.75 by 14.5 inches with image sizebeing approximately7.5 by 9 7/8inches.

Title is \" Les Confetti.\" Artist is Pierre de Coninck, Pinx. The scene is Rome Italy, three days before Ash Wednesday, when a bellwas tolled on the Hill of the Capitol. The bell announced the commencement of festivities and processions which filled the Via del Popolo. It is known as Carnival time. The Roman woman are throwing a form of sweetmeats, made of flour and plaster-of-paris, and was confetti made for throwing and not eating. Wonderful beautiful scene of Italy in those old days.
