This came with the other Cape Fear Items I am posting. It is the material from a Camp Kilodeska patch. The 1930s camp patches from Kilodeska are red with white silkscreen. My guess is that the patch was completely moth eaten. The design of the Kilodeska patch can somewhat be seen remaining on this backing material. My guess is that the silkscreen somehow provided some protection or reacted chemically with the felt as it degraded resulting the unintentional red imprinting of the Kilodeska design on the backing material. Now the problem of value. Essentially this patch is all but gone and is only able to be a placeholder in a collection. That being said I am only personally aware of one Kilodeska patch outside of the Cape Fear Museum though I am sure there may be another one or two I am not aware of. So, while this is a placeholder it is a placeholder for an extremely rare camp name that has less than 10 surviving camp patches existing in collections. I would be happy to trade it for a need for my camp collection, or with another quality piece for a camp need. I edited the first image somewhat to try and get a bit more contrast though I am by no means an expert when it comes to editing pictures.
