RARE! Antique 1861-63 Civil War Era 34 Star Hand Sewn American US Flag 12’.

For sale is an EXTREMELY RARE! Large size Antique 1861-1863 34 Star CIVIL WAR ERA Flag. It is made with Wool and Linen type of material and with individually sewn stars and strips. The 34-Star Flag was adopted with the admission of Kansas as the 34th state in January 1861. It was used until 1863 when West Virginia became a state. So it is the US Flag used during the early part of the Civil War. At no time did the national Flag lose stars. Since the United States believed that secession from the Union was illegal, the national Flag during the Civil War continued to bear the stars of all the states of the Union, even the Southern states.

The Flag measures approximately 12’ by 7’. A large size that is extremely rare to find. With such a long history behind, the Flag is not without its battle wounds. There are quite a few minor holes, some corner repair patches and tears scattered here and there. See all photos (and zoom in) for detailed condition. Fortunately, the fabric of the Flag is still in good integrity. Can be hung and displayed easily.

This Flag was acquired from my great grandparents home in PA.

We will ship with careful packaging with signature required for delivery. Please feel free to send me reasonable offers.
