The image of Edgar Allan Poe has been confirmed by one of the world's leading forensic examiners in facial recognition (a copy of the expert's Declaration of Authenticity is available upon request). Taken after an unknown daguerreotype, the tintype measures about 1 3/4" x 2 1/16". Shows signs of age and wear along with smudge marks, scuff marks, scratches, nicks, dings, scrapes, spots, rust, age cracks, a diagonal crease across subject's chest area, emulsion flaking with bare areas, and underexposed (i.e. dark).
