Amazing Large and Heavy WW2 era Silver+Gold+Sapphire Humidor Box Given to a Jewish Rescuers of the Holocaust Member-Hero, Harry Zeitz!! This Presentation Box given to him by the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies on October 31st 1945 at the World Famous Waldorf- Astoria Hotel in New York City for his many years of Devoted Communal Service. This Presentation box was given for all of his many years of devoted communal service, which should absolutely include his Truly Great communal Service as a Jewish Rescuer of the Holocaust! His name is on the Official Jewish Rescuers of the Holocaust List! Wow! This is a very Special person who helped save lives! I provided a photo of his name on this very Special List! He was also on the Board of Directors for the JDC, and owned some theaters and other businesses in the NY-CT areas from the research i did on him. This Amazing 900 Silver Hallmarked "Hungarian" Presentation box has a 3 inch strip of 14k Solid Gold and a 2+ ct Gorgeous Natural Blue Sapphire on it! The Sapphire is about 3/8 inch long and about 1/4 inch wide.The lid is Thick and Heavy and the box has a nice patina. It could be polished up but im going to leave it the way i found it. The Box is in excellent condition with no dents that i can find and the Hinge is very strong. It has some scratches, a few tiny dings and normal surface wear. It is Hallmarked in 2 different places, one under the lid and one on the bottom. This is a one of a kind Box here folks and a Great Piece of History too! What a wonderful conversation piece as well. The last 2 photos are from the Jewish Rescuers of the Holocaust list. The box is 8 inches long, 6 3/8 inches wide and 2 3/8 inches tall and weighs a whopping 910 grams on my scale! Keep in mind that some of that weight is the wood liner too and it is Not Weighted with any additional weight.
