Barn find, in Swanton, VT and they don't get much better than this one as found in Vermont.There were 2 Harley Davidson dealers located in Swanton in the 1910's. They were E. W. Barton and the Swanton Furniture Company.It may well be that this sign was hand made by the furniture company there?The sign measures 24" in height, and 62" long.This appears to be all hand made and most likely about a hundred years old dating back the early days when Harley Davidson adopted the shield IN 1910.Circa 1910-20's, UNTOUCHED with all original paint and patina.As you can see age has taken its toll , but it is mostly there and too fragile to wrap up and send. So the buyer will have to drive to Central Vermont to pick this up.This really belongs in the HD NationalMuseum. This is long before the neon sign era, and certainly the best sign being offered on at any price level.
