The exactitems as are pictured above, those items

ITEM1: “Hugh Hefner / by Don Diego / Playboy/ Signature Cigar

Sales Display / Showcase”

DIMENSIONS: 3 FEET LONG, 2 FEET TALL, 11 INCHES WIDE.

ITEM2:One removable florescent light with switch which fits atop

of thedisplay case and lights it up quite nicely as may beseen in the

final photograph above. This is not original to the unit. It is

actuallyan extra long aquarium light which has been modified to

fit perfectly atop this unit complete with cushioned spacers which

prevent the light from being too close to the glass. Has new bulb

with only a few hours of use on it. The bulb is lite and so will not

burn the glass.

ITEM 3: Accompanying table which was custom-made just for, and

presented with this displaycase. It has a 2-piece heavy-duty cover

with sashes. This is shownin the next-to-last photo.

This itemcan be further restored by sanding the borders down to bare aluminum andrepainting

toeither original wood-grain color or another color of yourpreference. Or, you can leave as is

because it looks just fine as it sits.

Thescratches on the front glass, unfortunately, will remain a permanent part of thispiece.

And now a word about rarity:

During the cigar boom of 1996, the Playboy By Don Diego cigar

was first launched at a celebrity event at Hugh Hefner's Playboy

mansion that same year, and continues to remain on the market

to this very day.

After a year, the top 100 sellers were invited to the Playboy

Mansion in 1997 and were rewarded with a gala and also

at the end, they were able to place an order for a custom-made

cigarsales display case for their establishments, and commissioned

by Hugh Hefner. The top seller ofthose 100 was the only one

who was able to receivea custom-madetable with custom-made

cover with sashes. Their choices weresimple:

*Clear rear sliding panels or mirrored rear sliding panels.

* Large center emblem or two smaller emblems on either

front side.

47 chose the clear rear sliding panels with double emblems.

17 chose the mirrored rear sliding panels with double emblems.

29 chose the clear rear sliding panels with large single emblem.

7 chose the mirrored rear sliding panels with large single emblem.

The 100 cases were then made per the individual requests and

delivered to the respective establishments a few months later.

And so, in terms of rarity, this display case is not only 1 of 100,

butadd to that being 1 of 7 out of that 100, and also that the

establishment thatreceivedthis one was the top seller that

first yearandwas the only one of the hundred to be awarded

the accompanying table as well.

This one went to an establishment in Hickory, N.C. which

was a bar / Tobacco shop which went belly-up during the

reign of King Corona around 2020, whichbythe way, was

thebest year to kick off ones "perfect vision" fortheworld,

ifof course, one was in the position to do so.

The only deduction from this item is that the original mirrored

rearsliding panels had to be replaced due to the black backing

beingso scratched up, and chips on the mirrored side, that the

integrityof the item was compromised and called for complete

replacement of the mirrors.However, the replacements are exact

matchingcuts to the originalsto include the quality, thickness,

length,and width. In fact, weprobably could have gotten away

withnot mentioning that atall. But inasmuch as we feel that this

does not detractfrom its beauty, rarity, or value, we mention

it.

Sadly,Hugh Hefnerdied in2017, and since the shipping

records as to where the 100 display cases went to is considered

non-releasable for reasons of privacy and liability, and that there

is noknown registryfor these, we cannotadvise how many of these

arestill in existence.We did notice that in early Septemberof 2022,

that one of the47 made with clear sliding rear glass withdouble

emblemssold right here on for $2,000.00.Relevant? Not

really.But it does tell us that at least 2 ofthese still exist.
