This pleading is dated 1774, before the signing.

This is a fine example and rare opportunity

to collect such a notable man\'s signature.

Samuel Huntington was jurist, statesman, and Patriot in the American Revolution from Connecticut. As a delegate to the Continental Congress, he signed the Declaration of Independence and the Articles of Confederation. He also served as President of the Continental Congress 1779-1781, President of the United States in Congress Assembled Chief Justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court 1784-1785 and the 18th Governor of Connecticut 1786 until his death in 1796.
