Parsons (1737-1789) was a famous American lawyer, soldier, and pioneer who served continuously from the Lexington Alarm in 1775 until after the British surrender at Yorktown. He fought at the Battle of Bunker Hill, Battle Hill, Battle of White Plains, and was on the board of officers that sentenced Major John Andre to death. Parsons was described as, “one of the strongest arms on which Washington leaned,” before tendering his resignation to later become one of the first settlers in the Northwest Territory.
