c. 1930s; Mueller Co. - Chattanooga, TNCutaway demonstration model of a municipal fire hydrant, cast in aluminum and mounted as a teaching or sales display piece. The body is sectioned vertically to reveal the internal valve assembly, threaded stem, and flow chamber, offering a clear view of how water is regulated through the hydrant. Exterior retains its original industrial silver finish with red-painted caps and chains, while the interior surfaces show contrasting painted sections that highlight functional zones. Cast lettering on the body reads "MUELLER - CHATTANOOGA, TENN," anchoring it firmly to one of the most prominent American hydrant manufacturers.Shows moderate wear consistent with age and use including paint loss, surface oxidation, and minor chipping along edges.
