The Jewish holiday Shavuot is known as the “Feats of Weeks.” It’s origins are tied to ancient grain harvest festivals, but the holiday is now celebrated as marking the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai. It’s tradition to dine on dairy-based foods during this celebration. Whether you’re having the whole family over or are just feeding your kids, these dairy delights are perfect ideas for the Shavuot holiday.

Blintzes

These cream cheese pancakes are tasty, and not too terribly tough to make. You’ll find loads of batter varieties out there. Basically, you’re making crepes. You can mix it raisons, top with berries or drizzle honey on top!

Cheesecake

Make your favorite recipe and top with melted chocolate, strawberry jam (heated) or blueberries. You can also make mini no-bake versions. Mix together an 8 ounce package of softened cream cheese with an 8 ounce tub of thawed whipped topping. Spoon the mix into mini graham cracker crusts and top with whipped cream, crumbled chocolate cookies, sprinkles or any other sweet treat.

Milk shakes

A scoop of ice cream (in your favorite flavor), a cup of milk, a handful of berries and a blender makes a yummy dairy dessert. Add more ice cream, and less milk, for a thicker consistency.
