Labor Day Ice Cream Cake
Cover a round cake pan in wax paper and add a thick layer of blueberry or blue raspberry ice cream. But the cake pan and the ice cream in the freezer for 30 minutes to an hour. Crumble vanilla wafers and spread the cookies across the hardened ice cream. But the half-cake back in the freezer for an hour or until it’s firm. Add a layer of red cherry ice cream and freeze again. When the entire cake is firm, frost it and create a red, white and blue design with icing.
Patriotic Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches
Use sugar cookies, vanilla ice cream and red, white and blue sprinkles for this recipe. Spoon the ice cream onto a cookie. Place another cookie on top. Sprinkle the red, white and blue accents onto the exposed ice cream and freeze the sandwiches for at least one hour.
Choose red and blue-colored juices or other types of beverages (such as sports drinks) to use for this easy idea. Pour the liquids into ice cube trays or small paper cups. Put the juice/drinks into the freezer. As the liquid begins to firm, poke a cut straw (use red, white and blue colors) through the top. Freeze the the pops until they’re solid! You can also use a popsicle mold—if you have one.
