Red, White and Blue July 4th Sundae Bar
How can you make your family’s July 4th celebration even more exciting? Add an ice cream sundae bat to your family’s BBQ! Instead of the same chocolate chip and rainbow sprinkle sundaes your kids usually eat, make patriotic ice cream treats instead.
To create your own red, white, and blue sundae bar for the Fourth of July:
Start with Red, White and Blue Ice Cream
Fill holiday-themed bowls with red cherry, white vanilla and blue blueberry or blue raspberry ice cream. Use a coordinating color-coded scoop for each flavor, creating a patriotic accent for the ice cream buffet.
Provide Patriotic Toppers
Sweeten the sundaes with red, white and blue sprinkles or candy-coated chocolates. Other patriotic topper options include marshmallows, red and blue gummy bears, shaved coconut, and white chocolate chips.
Add Plenty of Fresh Fruit
Even though your kiddos would happily top their ice cream with candy, add a healthy treat and give them plenty of fresh fruit—in red, white and blue, of course. Sliced strawberries, white raspberries, red raspberries, and blueberries are all easy options.
Finish the sundaes with red strawberry sauce and plenty of whipped cream or topping. Instead of plain whipped topping, use red and blue food coloring to create patriotic hues. Separate the topping into three bowls. Add a few drops of red food coloring to the first bowl, a few drops of blue to the second and leave the third bowl plain.
