Fun Fruit Salad
Does your little one snub fresh fruit? Create a Labor Day brunch picnic salad with fun shapes. Use star, heart and other cookie cutters to slice melon, apples, pears and other fruit into shapes. Choose a rainbow of colorful fruit options (such as blueberries, raspberries, mangoes, watermelon, cantaloupe, kiwi, strawberries and apples) to add to the salad.
Whether your kiddo enjoys peanut butter and jelly, turkey and cheese or any other sandwich pick, you can turn these tasty treats into cute shapes too! Stack the sandwich and slice it with a star-shaped cookie cutter.
Brunch s’mores fall somewhere between a sandwich and a dessert. Start with a graham cracker base. Add a toasty marshmallow and a piece of chocolate. Before you complete the stack, top the chocolate with layers of freshly cut strawberries, pressed blueberries, soft raspberries, chopped (skinned) apples, thinly sliced bananas or another fruit.
