Turn your cupcakes into holiday treats with a red, white and blue flag on top! Bake a batch of your favorite chocolate or vanilla cakes. Frost the top with white icing. Make your own mini flags to add to the cupcakes. Cut white card stock paper into rectangles. Use crayons or colored pencils to draw red stripes and a blue space on the left side. Glue each flag to a toothpick and top the frosted cupcakes.
Create a colorful fireworks pattern on top of frosted cupcakes. Use white icing as a background for the red, white and blue design. Sprinkle red, silver/opal and blue crystal sugar on top of the frosting in a fun firework pattern!
Separate white frosting into three bowls. Leave one as is, add red food coloring to the second and blue food coloring to the third. Bake a batch of a dozen (or more) cupcakes. Divide the cakes into thirds and frost each group with one color. Add fresh cut strawberries or whole raspberries to the red cakes, blueberries to the blue treats and white sprinkles to the other group. Arrange the cupcakes in a repeating red, white and blue pattern on your party table.
