This pair of sconces are solid bronze . They were created before the age of electricity when gas was the primary source of energy in homes. We have left this pair in their original found state. They exhibit elephant heads holding a branch with tree leaves and nuts. They can be rotated in each direction from left to right or right to left. One rotates freely and one is frozen in place which could be corrected. The branches which hold the leaves and nuts originally had four leaves, now one has two and the other has three. The gas control valves are "fleur de Lis " design. One tusk on one of the pair was repaired nothing of which takes away the value and the beauty of these striking sconces.
