Up for sale is a magnificent 19th-century French gilt-bronze (ormolu) and champlevé enamel footed vase by the world-renowned Ferdinand Barbedienne foundry!
This exquisite 6-inch objet de vertu is a masterclass in French decorative art, featuring intricate Islamic and Asian-inspired arabesque motifs heavily attributed to the iconic designer Édouard Lièvre. The body boasts striking, vivid turquoise, ruby red, and deep green champlevé enamel work offset by finely chased gilt-bronze details and a dramatic tripod base.
