Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for salethis incredibly rare original early 19thcentury Roman GrandTour Rosso Antico marble bath with Lion head detailing.

This bath is stunning, Ihave never seen one of this size before, they are usually around 40% smaller,this must weigh 30kgs / 66lbs approximately. It has the Lions head to thefront, rings either side, the marble is thick and with a beautifully veinedpatina.

These Grand Tour items werepurchased by the Victorian aristocrats of the day, they would bring them homefrom their journeys to prove they were well educated and well travelled, theywould be displayed in one’s study and used as conversation pieces.

The marble on this is verythick and as mentioned it has a glorious vein, it looks to have a crack runningall the way around, I do not think its ever broken because there are no signsof repair, it over 170 years old so we can forgive it some patina marks, mostcollector like to see some ware and damage, it helps to prove the age.

If sold items aren’t collected within three monthsand no arrangements have been made for long term storage you will forfeit theitem and payment

COURIER, LARGE ITEMS ONLY THAT CAN’T BE POSTED

We can arrange delivery nationwide, mostly with ournominated couriers, for Europe we use one reasonably priced professional companythat we trust, for the rest of the world we use international shippers that cansend any size item crated via air freight within 7-14 days after crating orsoft packed and container shipped via sea freight within 30-60 days. The timeframes outlined are guides only, non-domestic shipping is almost entirelygoverned by the airlines, sea freight loading times and custom clearances

Whomever delivers will always require help on thelarger items to unload, the price you will be quoted will always be based onthis assumption, if this is not possible, please let us know as it will affectthe price to send a two-person team

Delivery is to the ground floor only, again if youneed help upstairs or in flats etc that's absolutely not a problem, thecouriers charge £10-£20 per flight per man per item, if you have a workingelevator then naturally there’s no additional fee

All courier fees are paid by yourself directly tothe courier company, the contract for delivery is between yourselves the clientand whichever courier you chose from those available I’m happy to accommodateyour own courier after a cleared payment has been received, they need to bookin a collection time with at least 24 hours notice, all collections must bemade within 14 working days of the close of the sale unless agreed by priorarrangement

IMPORT DUTY

Most countries charge some kind of import dutyhowever almost all of our items won’t incur any charges as the items are exemptfrom tax due to the age and materials used

For European deliveries the price you will bequoted will include all clearance documentation and any customs charges sothere won’t be any additional fees

For international deliveries such as the UnitedStates there can be some import duty to pay and or a clearance fee, I wouldestimate that 99% of all deliveries clear customs without being stopped foreither

All duties are the responsibility of the purchaserwho is the importer, they can’t be covered by the seller or shipping agent orfactored in with additional retrospective discounts

RETURNS

Royal House Antiques offers a no quibble returnpolicy if the item is not as described, if there are any issues with the pieceyou will be refunded in full once the item has been returned and inspectedwithin 14 days, alternatively if there is a small issue, we can discuss findinga mutual resolution that makes all parties happy

We don’t offer a sale on approval service whichmeans you can purchase the item, have it delivered and if you simply don’t likeit, return it, this comes under change of mind or doesn’t fit.
