Description:Museum-quality original 19th-century gilt cast-iron Victorian Royal Coat of Arms – a breathtaking centerpiece of British heritage and craftsmanship! This exceptional piece is steeped in history, a true representation of Victorian-era artistry and the prestige of the British monarchy. Superb details and quality casting throughout make this an extraordinary display of regal power and elegance. The Rampart Lion and Unicorn stand proudly at each side, symbolizing strength and unity, with exquisite gilt highlighting every detail. The magnificent Royal Crest with Rampart Lion atop exemplifies the authority and grandeur of the Crown.

The Royal helm is beautifully presented underneath, accompanied by the original British shield featuring the dominions of 1st quarter England, Scotland, Ireland, and 4th quarter England, a rare testament to the intricacy of Victorian heraldry. The detailed compartment beneath includes symbolic depictions of the thistle, shamrock, and rose—emblems of Scotland, Ireland, and England—reinforcing the piece’s historical and royal significance.

Beneath the Royal Coat of Arms, the meticulously crafted stand/frame boasts superb borders and the Latin phrase Domine Salvum Fac Regem, translating to “Lord, save the King,” further underscoring its regal origins. Perhaps the most fascinating feature of this original 19th-century gilt casting is the addition of four cast-iron, painted, flaked Flags, elegantly displayed in the background. Each Flag features fine finials and affixed tassels, representing England, Scotland, Ireland, and England as related to the shield, evoking the grandeur of royal ceremonial displays.

The patinated painting enhances the depth and elegance of the casting, highlighting the remarkable craftsmanship and historical authenticity of the piece. The flanked Flags are secured by screws, with wires and chains added for preservation, demonstrating careful attention to maintaining its integrity. The base plate includes two fixed mounts at the back to attach to the bottom of the coat of arms, one of which is currently fixed in place.

The beautifully crafted oak base includes a metal swivel adjustable light and plug, allowing the coat of arms to be displayed with pride and illumination, capturing every gilded detail.

Condition: Piece is over 120+ years old, will show signs of wear, damage, chips, stains, etc. Back does show some signs of welding repairs to the flanking Flags. The coat of arms is not attached to the base plate but rather sits ontop. Coat of arms is one piece, bottom base rectangle plate is another, and the wood base stand is another. 3 pieces. It is possible that the Flags at the backs might be removed and carefully dissassembled and wrapped for shipping since they are held together just the screws at the bottom so it is possible they are breaking points.
