This piece is beyond rare. This was either taken by an American asset or spy during the war, or was not destroyed by the Germans before the Americans overtook a major command post (which rarely happened). This 100% original Landing Craft Blueprint is in excellent survivor condition. Nothing like this has ever been offered for sale, or at least there's no record of it. German Army/Kriegsmarine Secret documents rarely surface, and single "Geheim Kommandofache" stamped documents or photos sell for $1,000 or more each. Finding a blueprint is unprecedented, and we are very pleased to offer this unique piece of WWII history. Please note this blueprint sale is being offered simultaneously with the rest of the contents of this former U.S. Government held file on German Landing-crafts (and their subsequent holdings by the USSR Navy post WWII). The other file contains two copies of this blueprint, as well as negatives created by the U.S. Government. *** From a huge Estate Collection - These one-of-a-kind ship photos/documents/blueprints we're offering were maintained by the U.S. Navy/Government during WWII through the Cold War. We have many other declassified ship documents / blueprints / spy photos (mainly landing craft) from ships owned by Russia, Germany, France, Italy, and Great Britain. The backstory was these files were used to create a book on WWII through Korean War / Early Cold War era ships - specifically landing craft - I'm not sure if the book was ever published, but the subject matter contained in these folders was at one time (over 75 years ago) held closely by the U.S. Military. As far as I know, many of the photos and blueprints in this collection are unique, and the photos are all guaranteed type 1 original / not reprints. The blueprints in some lots are also going to likely be the most accurate representation available for many of these ships - which should be of particular importance for model builders, historians, etc. Please check out our other listings for more from the same collection - this truly is a lot worthy of display in a museum, or in an advanced private collection.
