Titanic (pre-sinking!) & Olympic: pair of original antique 'reverse glass painting' souvenir.
Titanic pre-disaster 'reverse glass paintings' are exceedingly difficult to come across,
much less together with a matching Olympic "Largest Steamer In The World" specimen.
In that, it must be noted that glass paintings come in quite a variety of (diamond) shapes.
This matching pair was well possible acquired by 1 person/family during the early 1910s.
There are condition issues with the paint and the mother-of-pearl, but this is like expected.
The backing consists of cardboard covered with 'gold'-color velvet and red faux-leather.
Souvenirs as these two are typically said to have been sold in the onboard barber shop,
which doubled as a souvenir shop. Dimensions (height/width): ca.14 in / ca. 35.5 cm.
On the Titanic one, the first word 'The' in "The Largest Steamer In The World" has 'faded'.
The pair will be shipped well protected with soft material and in a sturdy cardboard box.
