Rare Vintage Hand Carved Wood Blackamoor Holding a Tray with Ivory Teeth, 14.5”:

Rare hard to find hand carved wood and polychrome ebonized Venetian, Blackamoor c. 1870, together with Ivory teeth and glass eyes. Standing 14.25” high.

My grandmother had this in her home and for some reason I was attracted to it. I guess it was in great part because later in life I traveled to Paris, France and visited some fine antique stores and I saw one there. In fact, I’ve seen more blackamoors in metal, but good hand carved wood ones are older and harder to find. I couldn’t afford it at the time because everything in Europe was so expensive. Now after owning it for many years, I’ve gone modern, thus this offering.

Please know placement of this figure is certainly going to enrich wherever placed.

Measures; 14.5” high X 9” wide X 9” deep.

In very good condition with minor restoration to make it even better without changing its original structure.
