The Omen è considerato un caposaldo dell’horror. (e se siete qui probabilmente lo conoscete già). Racconta la nascita dell’Anticristo attraverso un climax, lontano dall’horror exploitation, cha ha reso (insieme all'esorcista) l’orrore "religioso" mainstream, influenzando profondamente il cinema successivo.È considerato uno dei vertici del cinema di genere degli anni Settanta. Ragion per cui me ne separo a malincuore.La sceneggiatura è stata acquistata nel 1999 a Londra in un mercatino dell'usato insieme a molte altre. Si trattava di materiale proveniente dai Pinewood Studios. Non credo si tratti di una sceneggiatura di produzione (che di solito hanno le pagine colorate) ma piuttosto materiale promozionale. Il marketing manual è costituito da svariate pagine di presentazione per la stampa o per invitare i cinematografi a proiettarlo.

*The Omen* is considered a cornerstone of horror (and if you’re here, you probably already know it). It tells the story of the birth of the Antichrist through a carefully built climax, far from exploitation horror, and—together with *The Exorcist*—helped make “religious” horror mainstream, deeply influencing later cinema.It is regarded as one of the high points of 1970s genre cinema, which is why I part with it reluctantly.
The screenplay was purchased in London in 1999 at a flea market, along with many others. The material came from Pinewood Studios. I do not believe this is a production script (which usually has colored pages), but rather promotional material. The marketing manual consists of several presentation pages intended for the press or for inviting cinema owners to screen the film.
