Offered for your consideration is A Race with the Stork, a bronze by Ken Payne. This dramatic sculpture captures the old Doctor's"hell bent for leather" ride to arrive before the stork does. The Doctor's left hand grips the reins and his mount's mane as his right hand applies the whip to keep the horse at full run. The sculptor has captured a critical actionthat must have been common in the sparsely settled west and it would make a great focal piece for your home or office. MAKER: Ken Payne (American, 1938-2012).Ken Payne was raised on a large ranch in New Mexico. His cowboy life in the Southwest inspired his choice to use Native Americans, pioneers, cowboys and wildlife as the subjects of his sculptures in order to convey a sense of frontier life.
APPROX AGE: 1991.
SIZE: Measures approximately 23 inches long x 11 inches wide x 22 inches high.
