※ This beautiful furisode features a special artisan seal (rakkan) believed to be from the prestigious Suisan Kobo (Kiriya), a renowned dyeing workshop in Tokamachi, Niigata, famous for its exceptional Tsujigahana creations.

Suisan Kobo is a historic workshop with roots dating back to the Edo period and is highly respected for reviving the traditional Tsujigahana dyeing technique, once considered a “lost art.” Their works are admired for elegant color gradation, intricate shibori craftsmanship, and luxurious artistic designs.

The red seal seen on this kimono is regarded as a mark of authenticity and craftsmanship, indicating a piece associated with the celebrated Kiriya atelier. The soft white shading and flowing patterns are also characteristic features of Suisan Kobo’s signature Tsujigahana style.

Made from fine silk (shoken), this furisode represents not only traditional Japanese beauty, but also the artistry of one of Japan’s distinguished kimono workshops.

The obi storage box is often regarded as a traditional Japanese craft item and is commonly used to preserve valuable textiles, calligraphy works, and fine art pieces. It is appreciated not only for protection and preservation, but also as an artistic collectible itself.
