Own an incredible piece of comic book history! This is an original 1964 Comicon booklet, one of only three CGC graded copies in the world, with a grade of 6.0. A true collector's gem, this booklet is an authentic artifact from the very first comic convention ever held, in July 1964 in New York City.

This unique event was attended by only about 50 to 100 guests, including legendary figures such as George R.R. Martin, Steve Ditko, Len Wein, and more, who gathered in a small conference room at the Union Meeting Hall building. Few relics from this groundbreaking day remain today, with most hidden away in private collections.

Key Features:

Extremely Rare: Only 120 copies of this booklet were ever hand produced by Bernie Bubnis back in 1964, founder of the convention, using a manual mimeograph printing technique. Today, only around a dozen copies are known to still exist.
Highly Graded: One of just three copies graded by CGC, with a blue label, no restoration, unpressed, and uncleaned, with a respectable 6.0 grade.

Printing Method: Produced using the mimeograph printing technique, giving it its distinctive light bluish/purple cover hue.
Distribution: These 1964 Comicon booklets were mailed to attendees, collectors, and fans shortly after the convention, rather than being handed out at the event. According to Bernie Bubnis, about 100 were mailed, and only around 20 remained unmailed and kept in storage by Bernie to be distributed at a later time to dealers and fans, like this copy up for sale. As a result, this issue has no addressee on the back right mailing box area, no stamp, and no fold lines as most copies would have been folded in half to send through the mail. This adds another unique element to this particular copy up for sale.

"I just wanted to let you know a few more facts about this particular copy of the '64 Comicon Booklet. I mailed folded copies to all the attendees and also to a number of fellow fans who did not attend. About twenty were left and I stored them away for safe keeping. Over the years I sent copies ( like the one you are saleing ) to fans who were too young to have attended or even knew it ever existed. A few I sold to dealers. These unfolded copies without the address box filled are nice reminders of a special fanzine for a special event."
