Antique O.C. White Co. Articulating Industrial Task Lamp- Excellent Patina and Vintage Components. Here is a rare, beautiful, highly collectible piece of American industrial history: an original O.C White Company adjustable articulating machine/drafting lamp, dating to the early 20th century. This lamp features the legendary, patented multi-lobed scalloped friction knuckles and split clamping sleeves engineered by Dr. Olin C. White. There are patent inscriptions as well as GE and O.C. White inscriptions as well.This fixture features an exceptional as-found surface. It has NOT been cleaned or polished and retains a magnificent dark aged patina on the bell shade.Mechanically, the lamp is excellent. The friction joints and clamping sleeves adjust smoothly and lock into place. The metal shows surface wear and dust consistent with a century of industrial use but is free of dents.Please note...this is a factory/bench mount model with a 3 hole cast iron flange base; it does not stand up on its own.While the structural iron, base, shade, and socket are period-correct, it seems as the wiring was replaced at some point with a mid century rubberized industrial cord and a vintage two prong bakelite plug. The lamp has been tested as is and works as it should, however, since the inside wiring condition is unknown, rewiring is recommended and there is no guarantee for use as is.

CO. USA and the iconic logo.- Original Hubbell-style stepped shoulder spun brass reflector bell shade.
