Rare and spectacular item. Very bold colors, striking image. At the time this was made, the tank was a relatively new invention. Notice the early design with guns firing from the sides. This is a fantastic piece of history.
August William Hutaf (1874-1942) was a successful, award-winning American illustrator and commercial artist. He was born in Hoboken, NJ. This WW I US Tank Corps recruiting poster is the piece he's best known for, although he was commissioned for many different kinds of jobs.
Measurements: 29.5 X 42.5 inches. (with linen). Poster itself: 27.5 x 40.5 inches
