This is one of the rarest—if not the rarest—Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse trading cards known to exist.

Across all major grading companies, only four graded examples are currently known, with this PSA 8 standing alone as the highest-graded copy in existence. The only other PSA-graded examples are a PSA 1, PSA 2, and PSA 4.

By population alone, this card is four times rarer than the legendary Wills PSA 9 “rookie” card, which has a PSA population of 4. The Wills PSA 9 is widely regarded as the Holy Grail of Disney cards, with its last public sale exceeding $36,000 two years ago.

Anyone following the Disney card market has seen the tremendous appreciation in vintage Walt Disney material over the past several years. Given today’s market, many collectors expect the next Wills PSA 9 to sell for significantly more than its previous record.

A Wills PSA 9 is currently being offered through Heritage sales with more than two weeks remaining, already approaching $30,000. Heritage has assigned an estimate of ”$40,000 and up,” while many Disney collectors believe the final price could reach well into the five figures, with some speculating it could approach $90,000–$100,000, depending on offerding.

In my opinion, this card belongs in the same conversation as the Wills card—and may ultimately surpass it in terms of rarity and grail status. As Walt Disney’s fifth trading card ever issued, it represents one of the earliest and most historically significant Disney cards in existence.

Opportunities to acquire a true Disney grail of this caliber are extraordinarily rare. Once it disappears into a long-term collection, another chance may not come for years.
