Inspiredby the Verona Arena, a Roman amphitheatre built in the first century and stillin use today for large-scale Opera performances.

Excellentcondition, never inked, shows no signs of use.

It comes with specific Arena diVerona lacquered wood box, illustrated paper outer box (slightly worn) and booklet(signed and stamped: "Montblanc-Simplo GmbH, Hellgrundweg 100, D-22525Hamburg" and "Boutique Montblanc, Via Montenapoleone, 27/B, Milan, Italy". Purchased in December 2006.

Early and uncommon Montblanc Artisan model. Only 49 pieces worldwide.

DesignFeatures:

·The cap and the barrel areinspired by the historical brickwork of the Arena with its arches and pillars.

·The wooden inlay work of the capand the barrel are reminiscent of the origins of the Arena when gladiatorsfought in the pit with swords and wooden shields
