Renowned as a leading figure in the Japanese craftsmanship world... Its history dates back to the 8th year of the Enpo era located in the former Fujibayashi-cho (now still existing as Takamorifujibayashi-cho) in Kyoto. The first generation Tokusan was a weaver of brocade Flags for the imperial family and the Imperial Household Agency and the name has been inherited for over 300 years since its establishment.
A master craftsman that Japan proudly presents! Fujibayashi Tokusan boasts a long history in Japanese dyeing and weaving.
In particular the 12th generation Tokusan is highly acclaimed for creating exceptional and refined obi and kimono designs that appeal to royalty's tastes receiving high praise from renowned figures and art world mentors worldwide.
The unique gem dyeing of Tokusan where natural precious stones are crushed to make dyes is famous.
