Fresh from an estate and offered for purchase is this very attractive antique Liao Dynasty amber glazed ceramic flask, modeled after a leather pouch-form flask with upright loop handle. It features an amber glaze that extends about two thirds down the side over white slip that falls short of the foot revealing the buff colored clay body underneath. Dimensions are 5 inches or 12.7 cm diameter x 11-3/4 inches or 29.8 cm tall. Condition is very good but it does show its age with some mostly small chips and glaze flakes. There is a good sized chip on the base/ foot. Please see all photos as they are part of the description. A great addition to any collection.
