Bauer Hermes Floor Lamp Neoclassical 1980s USA Vintage Column Greek God Description

A Neo-neoclassical floor lamp from US lighting company Bauer, depicting the Greek deity Hermes and his winged crown. A triple layered base of lucite, frosted lucite, and brass supports two black metal columns. Atop these sit two pilaster Atlantids of Hermes head, finished in brass. An upside down trapezoidal prism, that houses the light bulb, completes this majestic lighting piece.

The floor lamp was produced in the 1980s, and very much symbolises the glitz and glamour of America at the time –– with a nod to the classical traditions and myths of Ancient Greece. It would look amazing in any interior, and its elegance would help elevate any room in the house.
