4 Festive Christmas Eve Hot Cocoa Ideas
Your kids leave milk and cookies out for Santa on Christmas Eve. But what about a special treat for them? Christmas Reve night is the perfect time to curl up with a cup of hot cocoa. Instead of the regular ol’ version that the kids have on every other winter afternoon, try something more festive. How can you perk up a cup of hot chocolate? Check out these holiday cocoa ideas!
Candy Cane Cocoa
Melt a candy cane completely into warmed milk, mix in cocoa powder and you have a minty, chocolatey holiday drink. Top the cocoa with whipped cream, drizzle lines of red food coloring onto it and serve with a candy cane on the side. Or add mini marshmallows and a candy cane topper.
Red and Green
Turn white hot chocolate into a red or green Christmas treat. Add a drop or two of either red or green (don’t mix them in the same cup or you’ll get a brown color) food coloring into the cocoa. Top with whipped cream and add red and green sprinkles.
Dress up regular hot chocolate with a mountain of whipped cream and a sprinkle of crushed gingerbread cookies. Serve the warm drink with a gingerbread person perched on the whipped cream.
After warming a cup of milk mixed with white chocolate, top the holiday hot cocoa with whipped cream, white sprinkles and a snowfall of shredded coconut.
