Arbor Day Planting Ideas

What better activity to do on Arbor Day than to plant a tree? Even though this holiday is all about trees, you can’t just stop, dig a hole and plant a tree wherever you want. If your family wants to celebrate this special day, take a loo at some of these imaginative tree planting places and spaces.
Container Forest
Create your own indoor Arbor Day experience by planting a small-sized tree indoors. If you’re short on space, don’t have a yard or have nowhere else to plant a tree, create your own container forest. Trees that grow well indoors include fishtail palms, ficus trees, umbrella trees, yuccas and fiddle leaf figs.
Tiny Trees
When a ficus is still too big for your small space, a miniature tree can take its place. Bonsai trees are artful options that provide hours of pruning fun. Relax, trim the tree and grow this super-small selection in your living room.
Patio Plants
If you have a deck or a patio, you can plant a tree! Instead of planting the tree in the ground, try an imaginative outdoor container. Reuse a wooden box, use a large-sized metal tub or have the kids paint an old ceramic pot with an Arbor Day message.
