How To Help Your Child Plan a Veteran’s Day Fundriaser
How can your child celebrate Veteran’s Day? Help your child to understand the importance of veterans and hold a fundraiser. Partner with a local organization or charity that supports vets. Don’t worry about staging a super-sized event. Start small. The idea is to help veterans. The organization you collaborate with will appreciate any assistance you provide.

Select an Event
There are limitless options when it comes to the type of event you can hold. If you want to stage a small fundraiser, try a bake sale or lemonade stand. If you have the opportunity to try something larger, host a spaghetti dinner, pancake breakfast or auction. Depending on what type of event you choose, you may need to secure a venue or a caterer.
Spread the Word
Get the word out about your event. Your child can draw posters or make flyers to hang in the community or at school. If you plan on inviting close friends and family, your child can make save the date cards. They can draw patriotic pictures on postcards. Send the cards out or hand deliver them.
Stage the Event
On the day of the event, make sure your child helps. They can help with set-up, clean-up, and other easy aspects of the fundraiser.
Donate the Funds
Bring your child along when you donate the funds. This will help them to better understand the importance of the fundraising event.
