Kids’ Painted Christmas Tree Craft
You’ve already decorated your Christmas tree. But that doesn’t mean the kids can’t make a second. Or third. Or even fifteenth. If you’re looking for a way to keep the kiddo’s busy on the days leading up to the winter holidays, or you need a Christmas craft on the big day, check out this kid-made tree art activity.
Materials
- Tempera paint- green, brown and any other colors your child wants
- Glitter
- Card stock paper
- Cotton balls
- Sequins
- Clear-drying school glue
- Ribbon
- Scissors
How-To Steps
- Pour the green and brown tempera paint into small pools on a paper plate, sheet of wax paper or piece of reused cardboard.
- Dip a cotton ball into the green paint. Your child can paint print a triangle-shaped Christmas tree buy pressing the cotton ball down onto the paper.
- Repeat the paint print step with brown tempera to make a tree stump at the bottom (flat part) of the triangle.
- Add ornaments by paint printing dots with other colors. Your child can use a cotton ball or their fingers.
- Sprinkle a dusting of glitter in the still-wet paint.
- Glue thin ribbons onto the tree to make garlands.
- Dot glue on the ribbons and add sequins for a festive look!
