Thanksgiving Activities to Keep the Kids Busy
How can you keep the kids busy during your family’s Thanksgiving celebration? Even though the tasty treats and main meal will fill some of their time, your children (and other young guests) needed added activities. If you’re not sure what the kids should do, check out these easy holiday activities.
Make basic bingo boards with cardboard or poster board paper. Add holiday-themed pictures or words on the spaces. Use stickers or have the kids draw small-sized pictures onto the boards. Play the game before the meal as a way to ease into dinner or afterwards to keep the kids busy!
Choose a selection of Thanksgiving themed books for a holiday story-time session. Make a cozy book nook in your home, filling it with pillows and blankets. Invite the kids to sit down and read a holiday story.
Create a few easy, low-mess crafts to engage and entertain the kids. Try a turkey hand-tracing (each child traces their hand onto paper and draws a turkey face and feathers on it), a Pilgrim portrait, Thanksgiving meal still life or another similar craft. Use the finished products as holiday décor or send them home with guests as party favors!
